BEES OF GEORGE STREET SEND CLEAN AIR MESSAGE
George Street Canteen's busy hive of bees has unexpectedly doubled production of honey since the Covid-19 pedestrianisation of George Street and High Street was put in place. In what is seen as a heart-warming turn of events, the bees have given residents and shopkeepers a strong message about the local environment. Prior to the pandemic, pollution in the area was reported to be above World Health Organization limits and this latest news gives the community a positive prognos

EGG PRIZES ABOUND FOR OUR EASTER PARADE
The street put on an eggscellent show to mark Easter weekend, with bunnies and chicks and spring flowers festooning doors and windows along its length. A veritable cornucopia of yummy Easter eggs were handed out by the judges at the homes with the most colourful or inspired displays, with special note taken of contributions by younger members of the house. The judges would like to make a special mention of the displays at Nos 29, 40, 46, 54, 69, 70, 98, 100 and 1 St Michaels
