St Michael's Manor Hotel has joined St Albans School to offer residents alternative parking spaces during road resurfacing from Tuesday 27 May to Friday 30 May.

As per guidance issued by Eurovia Surfacing (see PDF attachment below), residents must move their cars from the stretch of Fishpool Street undergoing resurfacing on the relevant days.

WARNING -- Vehicles must be moved at least 30 minutes before work begins -- i.e. by 9am each day. We understand from Eurovia that any cars which have not been moved (from the section of road being worked on) will be ‘towed’.

These are your parking options:

OPTION 1: St Albans School -- will provide residents with 15 parking spaces within specially marked bays in the school's Upper Yard.

This will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Owners must leave a note with their name, house number and phone contact details visible behind the windscreen.

OPTION 2: St Michael's Manor Hotel -- the hotel has kindly offered to let residents park in its Overflow Car Park.

This Overflow Car Park is accessed by continuing straight down from the hotel's main entrance and through the gravelled car park. At the bottom, to the right of a wooden hut, proceed along the narrow track with the lake on your left, before turning on to a large grassed area to park.

Please avoid blocking access and exit for other vehicles when parking in the grassed area.

Owners must leave a note with their name, house number and phone contact details visible behind the windscreen.

NB: No parking by residents is permitted until Sunday, 25 May, at the earliest, due to a wedding taking place at the hotel the day before.

OPTION 3: Romeland Hill (and vacant bays elsewhere in Zone B) -- The Romeland Hill coaches bay will be available for parking throughout the day all through this, the half-term week.

Our thanks to St Albans School and St Michael's Manor Hotel for their support and assistance.

IMPORTANT -- PLEASE NOTE:

RUBBISH COLLECTION: Veolia has confirmed that the purple bags collection scheduled for Wednesday, 28 May, will take place at 6.00am that morning. Please have your bags ready the night before.

DOORSTEP DELIVERIES: Please schedule deliveries outside road closure hours, from 9.30am to 4.00pm, but allow margin for possible roadwork overrunning.
