KEEP GEORGE STREET PEDESTRIAN, POLL SAYS
George Street should be fully pedestrianised as trialled during the Covid pandemic, say a majority of residents polled in a Fishpool Street Residents' Association (FSRA) survey. With St Albans' High Street Recovery Pedestrianisation Trial coming to an end, Herts County Council will decide whether or not to reopen George Street to 2-way traffic, or keep a measure of pedestrianisation. Welcome to our residents’ association website!
Fishpool Street is remarkable in several ways – for its community spirit, for its thousand-year history, and for its rich architectural heritage.
But one thing stands out above all – and that’s the friendliness of the neighbourhood. Our aim for the website is to help foster that spirit further, as well as the image and standing of our wonderful street in the eyes of the world.
